A long walk to Trump's military parade

2

I decided to attend President Donald Trump’s military parade today. But by the time I reached the area on foot, and with so many roads blocked off for security, I struggled to find an entrance.

Newsflash… I missed the entire parade. But along the way, I spoke with people who shared the reasons why they were there: To celebrate the military, to witness history, to honor a son. Some were local, others were from America’s south and South America. I passed people selling Trump regalia. And people protesting Trump, including a member of Antifa who I interviewed in 2020.

This video and long walk brought viewers into the streets of Washington in real-time. It cut off once I hit the security checkpoint in the National Mall. Soon my phone would die, its battery sapped from the live chat. The president would speak and fireworks would boom and glow behind the Washington Monument — an historic night that was seen as both celebratory and controversial.
