On SpyCast: How do you fool Russian intelligence?
Bryan Stern rescued a captive American in Russian-occupied Ukraine through an elaborate web of deception.
My first episode with SpyCast, the International Spy Museum’s flagship podcast, has officially dropped. I sat down with Bryan Stern, a former military intelligence officer and Purple Heart recipient who now uses his skills in unusual ways. He rescues captive Americans through a nonprofit he founded called Grey Bull Rescue Foundation.
In 2022, he set his sights on Kirillo Alexandrov, an American farmer who was imprisoned in Russian-occupied Ukraine on false charges of espionage. Kirillo was dragged out of his home naked and tortured for 37 days. Until Bryan’s plan came to fruition.
Today he shares some of the tradecraft he used to fool the Russian intelligence services in both Russian-occupied Ukraine and Moscow.
