Hello friends, I am writing to tell you that I’m taking this week off. I need some time to relax and unplug. But I will be back at it next Monday.

Below are some images of what I last saw from the train station, as I was leaving DC… a beautiful city that year over year, job by job, friend by friend, became my home.

It has felt somewhat foreign in the last few days. The metropolitan police ordered a city-wide curfew of 11pm. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth authorized National Guard troops to carry weapons. And DC residents have been recording arrests of immigrants and military vehicles hitting cars and pedestrians because they are not used to driving in urban environments.

I had popped over to Union Station soon after President Donald Trump called in members of DC’s National Guard. Civilians were lingered by them, trying to get their take on the situation. One of the guardsmen gave me a stress ball. Oh the irony.
