Sasha, my heart is breaking watching you tell your tale about this totally unacceptable incident...my blood is also boiling, that some stranger felt he had the right to enter your home without your permission verbally accost you .....I hope you will contact the construction Co and report this to them as well as the building management ( if you haven't already ) along with the police.....I can see how upset and vulnerable this has made you....my thoughts are with you...and btw, without makeup you look great.....keep doing what you do, it's so important.

You've received several excellent recommendations. I would add that you need to contact your complex's management and arrange a meeting. You need to present them with the problems concerning your apartment and how you want them to be resolved - the need to schedule access to your apartment by the contractor's employees and the need for management to ensure the damage to your apartment is immediately addressed and the sky light is covered so employees cannot access your apartment. Put it in writing. You also need to call your local police non emergency number and ask if an officer can be sent to your apartment. My assumption is and the officer's assumption will be the employee in your apartment was there to burglarize. Also address the threatening behavior of the contractor's foreman. It's your right to be safe in the home.

Sorry to hear you had to endure this--I hope you speak to a lawyer about what happened. Are people legally allowed to enter your apartment just with the landlord's say-so, without notifying you at all? Can't they access the apartment from the public areas? Breaking two skylights, did you say? Seems very careless. Could that have been accidentally on purpose? What about other tenants on the top floor? Have they had similar experiences? Or is your apartment the only one?

Sasha, you did not deserve to be treated that way. Oh dear, I would be so freaked out. I pray that by now this man has realized how wrong his behavior was and has apologized.

Wishing you the best.

If he hasn't already, I hope Malcom Nance reaches out to you. He probably would have some good security advise and how to work through this situation.

Stay safe!
