Outside the State Department after 1,300 RIFs

I stood outside of the State Department for a few minutes today, after hundreds of employees walked out of the building for the last time on Friday. Some 1,300 names were on a list I obtained — dismissed as part of the Trump administration's plans to reshape the government. I spoke about who some of them were and where they worked… which include countering violent extremism, Iranian affairs, nuclear nonproliferation, and energy diplomacy.
